With his fiery defense of his ambassador to the United Nations, President Obama appears to have committed himself to nominating Susan Rice to be secretary of State and making her confirmation fight a test of wills with Senate Republicans, congressional aides and Democratic strategists said Thursday.

Shares of HTC Corp jumped by their permitted daily limit on Monday after the Taiwanese smartphone maker announced a global patent settlement and 10-year licensing agreement with Apple Inc, allowing the struggling company to focus on product development.

Massive storm Sandy kills at least 8 as it roars ashore in East 

At least eight people were killed by massive storm Sandy as it moved inland after roaring ashore in New Jersey with 80 mph winds Monday night.
Floodwater swamped New York City, pouring into subway tunnels and filling the enormous construction site where the World Trade Center was destroyed in 2001. Much of Lower Manhattan was plunged into darkness after exploding transformers cast a rosy glow against the gloomy sky.

Taiwan celebrates on eve of entry to U.S. visa waiver program

Taiwan's government held a ceremony in Taipei on Wednesday to celebrate the country's inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which takes effect the following day.

U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez, who is visiting Taiwan to promote bilateral trade and investment, said at the ceremony that the VWP will strengthen understanding between the people on both sides.

Venezuelan President  Hugo Chavez and his supporters on Monday celebrated his reelection, while many in the country wondered whether his victory could result in improved relations with opposition parties after a decade of bitterness and division.Chavez, who captured 55% of the vote Sunday to handily beat challenger and former Miranda state Gov. Henrique Capriles, who received 44%, indicated via Twitter that he'd had a good postelection talk with his opponent.

          I think I should write down this new page of my career history.  I do not easily get mad person or act out of blind impulse.  However...

        The time was PM 5:15, but I was at home already, as I left office earlier than before. I told to one of my friends, how angry I was because of company issues.  He said, he could not imagine that something drove Cherry crazy.

Presentation Test

           Our International Trade teacher wanted us to study a company and use SWOT analysis which analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for a company. SWOT helps companies to plan their strategies to meet goals by maximizing strengths and opportunities. It also gives companies the tools and insight to adjust their directions during a project to meet any weaknesses or threats.  

Chinese Slang (I)

          Slang is an informal words and continual use and definition of words of informal conversation.  Both Taiwanese people and Mainland people
speak mandarin. However, there are some different slang usages between these
two sides.

            Do you ever use the automatically translation tool on the Internet? Ha ha, sometimes I cannot stop my laughter because of these stupid translation tools.  So, Teacher Kuo always admonishes us do not use the internet translation tool. Now you can refer some examples that I download from Internet.

Mother's day gift

        Every year, I have a big headache for choosing mother's gift.  Most people in Taiwan live in affluence here. My sisters and brother often buy some gifts for her, clothes, bags, shoes, and so on... she seems having everything already.

My New Friend

        I have  a new friends, his name is Matt.  He has brown short hair and white skin. We never meet each other in personal, but I can see his picture while we are chatting.  Every time when I am free, he is always available for chatting with me.  We talked a lot and a lot by cell phone.  His ton is soft and slow. I think he is thoughtful because I am not a native English speaker. 

What is LOVE

     One day, some classmates and I discussed about a sentence on our class community board (chatting board),  and I almost knew some piece of this puzzle " Put space between king and and and and and Queen".


     Then, our homeroom teacher posted some words, he appointed me and the other classmates to stop discussing this boring question. He wanted us to try thinking about "What is love?" instead of.  He did discuss this topic on his class already, but, he asked us to think it over and over.

My Childhood in Cha YI

        Everyone looks at my white skin and listens to my accent will be certainly sure that I am from the city, the city kids?... no, no, a very big No.

      Can you imagine a dark little kid always run  after butterflies under the sunshine, and played on the swings as high as possible to reach the sky.  This kid also looked for snails after raining, climbed  up the tree to grab some fruit, and jumped into a river to catch some tadpoles. 

Mother's Day Card

     

      My first mother's day card was given to my grandmother, at the time, I was just 6-year-old girl who did not know what the meaning of mother's day or mother's day card is.  I purely drawn some childish flowers on a paper ... then teacher asked me I should give my hand-made card to my grandmother, due to I lived with her alone.  Father and mother were too busy to take care of all kids.  I was sent to my father's born place, a very small village in south of Taiwan, and I  have a good time about one year with my grandmother together.

Dear Sandy,

       Finally, you divorced your husband in this week, or your husband divorced you ?  I always believe that  you should deserve a happy marriage.  You loaded a lot of house works and made your best and efforts for your family all the time, and you  put your husband and kids in  the first place than you.   You hardly bought a new clothes or some cosmetic for yourself, and never went to beauty saloon.  But, how come you make yourself in so difficult situation.

The Secretary Life

       I have been secretary for many years, the first secretary was titled as sale secretary whose main job was maintaining current customers, helping some purchase works and  administrative matters.  I still remember that my boss always was not satisfied about the result of what I done, but, soon, I realized what was the key point of my boss wanted.

A Remantiac Rencounter Story

       I rarely have shopping time abroad when I visit my overseas customers, because my customers will not be the office till the noon... and they often work hard, have dinner very late around PM 9:00~10:00,every time when I am back to hotel, not mention how tired i am,  all shopping malls and department stores are closed.

Hotel issue (II)

    Did you remember the hotel people told me the cake box was delivery out by EMS on Saturday the same day customer leaving for airport.


     I thought it will be not a problem of box arrival customer's  country within 2-3 days.  However, I called again to the hotel on Tuesday, and asked the person who in charge of this mistake.  He was not on the duty during the day, I left a message let him send me a message to my  cell phone about the EMS tracking no.  

My Dream Career

     
      When I was a little girl, I always dreamed about the future of my life, in my little mind I did not have any plan of being a great person. My dream was to be a say-at-home wife and mother. I dreamed about my little sweet home, I would make it as comfortable as possible and let all family members enjoy my well prepared dinner after a whole day work.

The Hotel Issue

      One night, I bought two boxes of cake, one was for Malaysia dealer, the other was for another customer. After leaving the piano bar, I dropped by hotel which my Singapore customer stayed. The time was passing one o’clock, I thought customers should be in bad already.

Nox Bar

       That night, I invited my overseas  customer to have a dinner, but he preferred to have a drink with me than a dinner. Since he has been stayed Taipei for few days and was tried to have big meal recently.  We went to a piano bar with his family- his girlfriend, mother, daughter, and his brother. The bar owner is one of my customers, too, this was my first time to visit his bar. Actually, I have never visited any bar for many years.

     Modern technology has rapidly changed our life and our surroundings.  Someone said " There's nothing new under the sun." I do not think so, since I upgraded my cell phone to smart phone which is not only with basic phone function.  It can take picture, make a video, surfer internet, in addition, with downing of app for free, you can make your phone functions different from others.

Modern Feminism

      This Valentine day, where I was? Should I have romantic dinner with lover, but I flied over 1000 kilos to visit my customers.  One customer invited me to have dinner together.... He works for his father, the son of small auto turn workshops owner.

Dear Diary Apr. 11th

       I opened the eyes earlier than my alarm setting time of am 7:00, the light through the window, I saw some whiteness brighten my room, and there was some noise from the outside of window.  I was trying to make me fall in asleep again… but I could not… I knew today was the day coming full of tough and challenge. I needed more power and energy.  I rolled and rolled in the bed, then got up and applied some make-up.

       The fifth day of lunar Jan., the sunshine was over the world, we decided not stay at home any more, we have an impromptu trip,  we did not have any plan or bring any belongings for this explore journey, just wanted take adventure there.

Every morning, when I go into my office, there are some snacks on my desk already, sometimes are small bags of cookie, sometimes are chocolate or candy.

Something Regrettable in 2011

       If you ask me what did you feel regrettable in 2011, I would like to say, the "words hurt" that I did to my family. 

       In the end of last year, one day, I was hurry for going to school, Kyle, the first kid in our  family, sat near by the window of my room, I did not remember what he said or he did, but I remembered he made me annoyed, I did not have much time to talk to him, so I asked him to leave for other place else, but he would not do so, I felt anxious about this situation, I talked to him impatiently,

Conversation Final Examination

       Conversation final examination was forwarded to the last date of 2011.  The topic of examination was simulated English conversation in every situation.  4-6 classmates divide into a group.  Each group must think a theme and place which conversation could be happen.

       Our team used hotel conversation as our situation place, Audrey and I were receptionists at hotel, David was a secretary working for Boss Jennifer, our conversation was starting from me, I accepted David making a hotel reservation....

1. I just killed some ants, I was too depressed to do anything ...

2. I was having a bad hair day, did not have the mood for doing assignment.

3. My kitten was too hungry, she ate a mouse..., you know the mouse connected with PC….

Crazy Reasons for School Absence

     Reportedly, there was a college student used a crazy excuse for his absence, the excuse was he had been kidnapped by aliens, and another weird thing that school did not think  anything wrong about this excuse.

     At meanwhile, I found there were some  reference topics for blog writing on teacher's list, one of them just match the same situation as the news.

Shang Hai

      

      Last April, I went to Shanghai attending auto mobile show which was the biggest auto expo in Mainland China every year, I have been lived this large city almost 2 weeks. Instead of stay hotel, we rented a nice house near by subway station. After whole day exhibition work, my coworker, I and a new friend- Shanghai girl, she led us to visit and have a look of this big city, eating, shopping, walking …, after few days tour, we could move from one spot to another spot by shanghai subway without any tour guide.
